Cizre - Mosque of the 12 th century
Cizre was for a long time the cultural capital of the Kurds. The Court of Jezireh Botan sheltered the greatest poets, as Malayê Djaziri and Feqiyê Teyran. The great engineer al Jaziri is also buried there, and it is the legendary place of Mem and Zîn's love, put in verse by Ahmedê Khanî.
