The Kurdish people had constantly faced to exodus :
nearly 4.000 villages have been burnt by the Turkish army and more than six
millions people are obliged to cramp in shantytowns out of metropolis. These
refugees have to face hard and unhealthy way of life, diseases quickly
spread and from these children are the first victims. Most of the young refugees of Istanbul, which we met
one month before the terrible earthquake in Turkey in August 1999, believed
in their future... Their lives are nowadays still hard.
Helping them to have decent lives and supporting
local associations in their struggle is important, in order that each child
could benefit medical cares, could eat his fill and goes to school.
