Ahmet Zeki Okçuoglu En 1990, Ahmet Zeki Okçuoglu founded the publishing house DOZ, that edited the first newspaper (ROJNAME) and the first Kurdish calendar issued in Turkey. When you fill illegally, since the starting of your existence, the ground and the space of your motherland, why not to pay particular attention to surround the time, to subdue the course of time, with the words of a banned language ? Ahmet Zeki advances his language and his writers like a strategist advances his horsemen and his infantry. And every writing, every words discovered or revived in this language numbed during many years of interdiction, dispel shadow and death from the Kurdish land. This country could not be seen in any map, any guide ? If that is all, DOZ published in 1998 the first Kurdish Guide With Dictionnary for tourists. So we can now to ask at the Police Station :"Hunê karibin alîkariya min biki ?". And this guide is really very wise for it recommands to ent the conversation with the sentence "Ez bêsuc im" (I am not guilty) and we can be sure that the Turkish authorities would take this declaration in account. Could we suppose that this man is crazy ? Yes, undoubtedly, with a fresh and pure madness, he is madly in love with books, culture and laws, in short : in love with civilisation. Publisher of a cursed language, lawyer of Human's rights, author of many political articles, he never knows the exact number of complaints lodged against him. Retired from the bar since 1990, he has accepted to defend Öcalan when much lawyers did not venture to do it. He was too the first to withdraw because he did not trust his client's defence. For this man incredibly gentle and sensitive is too incredibly obstinate and nothing stops Ahmet Zeki when he is sure to be right. Today, Ahmet Zeki Okçuoglu wishes to come in France and fight against the Turkish government for the delivering of his passeport. Since three months he endures intimidations and threatenings that causes his request. On the last 22th September, at the restaurant, he has been arrested and taken in custody during a night. But it was just "an error". Then we wish that our country invites officially Ahmet Zeki Okçuoglu. So he could learn that in some towns dinner does not end in custody... Sandrine Alexie |
