Editorial of August 2000 "Truth is out there..." Agent Fox Mulder
The campaign of the Initiative of Kurdish Democrates in Europa, that aims to alert people about the case of old PKK's fighters (and now political opponents), has provoked sharp reactions from the direction of the PKK, especially in Europa. As this site is open to ALL the Kurdish movements that wish to express DEMOCRATICALLY their opinions, it seems fair to publish now (briefly, alas !) some explanations exposed in many statements that we have received from the Presidential Council and from the European Representative of the PKK. After these explanations, everything is clear and the opponents to the PKK are wrong : 1/ "Any information other than that circulated by our People's Defense Forces is false." Of course, how could we forget it ...? 2/ "Making a connection between these kind of incidents and our President, who is kept under very harsh in Imrali(1), is not only completely wrong but it also is not moraly acceptable" It is not moral, indeed, to harm Öcalan in that way : these people who lack at that point of heart and sensitiveness should be nothing but a part of the "propaganda organs of the international plot" against the Kurdish Democratic Forces. 3/ Everybody knows that there is an international plot against the "national democratic movement" of the Kurdish people(2), and everybody knows that the best way to save that "national democratic movement" is to throw these "liquidators" and these "defaitists" out of the ranks of the "Kurdish democrates" and to fight them. So that's clear : Anyone who could oppose to a movement that is so such fond of democracy should be pitilessly excluded and struggled. 4/ "Even worse, most of this unfounded and untrue information which is circulated is wrongly attributed to our President in Imrali". As a lese-President crime, a conversation betwen Öcalan and his lawyers has been mentionned, in which he preconized against his opponents, capital punishment for crimes of war. And that conversation was published in the Kurdish newspaper Serxwebûn. In that regard, there is just one possible explanation, if we consider that Öcalan, in any case, could not make the slightest mistake, even a mistake of communication(3) : the people who had had the bad idea to read a newspapaer so such far from the PKK and so such fighting Öcalan's political thoughts should not be surprised if they have been mislead by the Ennemy's tricks. 5/ A list of twenty-eight prisonners of the PKK was published. Against it, we received a final and clear answer : Four from them (why only four ?), talking by phone on the absolutely independant broadcast Medya-TV, denied to emprisonned and in danger to be killed. In any case, if we would like more evidences, the PKK found the way to stop "false assertions" and to prove its sincerity : some European delegations are invited to the Kurdistan of Irak for verifying de visu that the "prisonners" are freely in that place and for hearing from their own mouths that they stay here freely and by their own will. As usually, and only for being helpfull, the European PKK sent by courtesy the translators whose need Kurds and Europeans for the best understanding between people. We can guess too that the independant press organ Özgür Politika – well known for its total impartiality – will be as usually the fair witness of that meetings. In the OFK, we would like to accept these lightning and absolute arguments, but some morose and fussy members in our ranks wish just one more slight evidence for being absolutely convinced. Almost nothing in fact, but they would be so enjoyed and that would make us persuaded that the PKK is at least on the way to that democratic principles it exiges for itself : really we could have a more impartial point of view if Hamili Yildirim explain himself his own opinions, of course without "witnesse" nor designed "translator". Sandrine Alexie - Roxane (1) That has nothing to do with systematical tortures endured by the other prisonners in Turkey and whom He asked to stand when He was free "to the honour of Kurdish people". Under tortures, the recommendation of the PKK was to claim "Long live to Apo" (that answer aimed propbably to provoke the tormentors' pitiless and indulgence !) (2) PKK (3) but that case is absolutely unimaginable : after many verifications, none of the commanders in the Party think of that possibility. |
