Statement of Action Committee against the crimes of KADEK "Death warrants
against opponents given by Öcalan General President of PKK/KADEK, Abdullah Öcalan, arrested on February 15th 1999 and imprisonned in the island of Imrali, had stated that he will serve Turkish state if he would have the possibility to do it. After that declaration, some lawyers of the «Legal Office of the Century» had been nominated to establish liaison between the Presidential Council of PKK (now KADEK) and Öcalan. The case of the General President of PKK/KADEK depends normally on «The rule for the prison institutions of High Safety» that manage the conditions of detention of those who have been «condemned for terrorism». Although he can control PKK/KADEK from his prison, and it allow him to order the execution of his opponents. Some of his lawyers had transmitted to Öcalan the reaport of the Presidential Council of PKK of 2000 June 7th in which it was explained that Dr Süleyman, Küçük Zeki and Yilmaz were sheltered in the area controlled by UPK with a groop of comrades (precisely 23 people). Öcalan’s answer had been transmitted to the Presidential Council : "It is a war crime and it should be punished with the strictest way ". Following this order, the group that had left PKK had published a statement on the WEB in which they announced that about sixty people among their friends had been arrested by the organisation and that the life of 28 among them, whose they give the name, were in danger. The direction of PKK was critized at this time and underwent pressures from the public opinion. So they made an "interview" by phone (and on Medya-tv) of some people whose name was on the list in the aim that they denied these declarations. But, for the last two years, the following people (whose name were on the list spred by opponents) had been executed by KADEK : 1) Faruk BOZKURT (Nasir) - Member of the Central Committee of PKK, fighter and commander for 20 years, successively in Zagros, Garzan and Amed areas. He was arrested and imprisonned because he has told that the system wished by Öcalan was the same against which they fought since 20 years, that he will never accept it and he will stay in the party to opposite. For a long time he was tortured and interrogated. After Öcalan’s comments about him, he was accused to be a spy by the Presidential Council of KADEK and was executed in Octobre 2002. 2) Rahman SEN – He was arrested and interrogated by the direction of KADEK, after he had said that staying with PKK was nonsense. He was beheaded and his corpse was thrown in a precipice. 3) Yücel ZEYDAN – He was arrested under excuse that he xas in relation with the group of opponents and has been executed in September 2000. His death was imputed in a fight against UPK forces. 4) Nazime ADTÜRK – She was arrested, interrogated and tortured under excuse to have been in touch with the opponent group. She was executed in July 2000. Her death was imputed in suicide. 5) Berzan DÜRRE – He was arrested, tortured and interrogated under excuse to have been in touch with the opponent group and to have lost his faith in the political line of the party. After a long period in detention, he was executed in August 2002. According to the Organisation, he would have been shot while he deserted. 6) Mehmet Emin ÜNAY – After having left PKK, he went to Iran. He was arrested and interrogated. As he refused to answer, he has been discreetly executed in July 2001. 7) Iskender – Kurd from Syria. His real name is unknowned. Commander of battalion and region. He was accused to be a spy and judged by the organisation, because he was surprised that PKK/KADEK had claimed the aknowledgement of the identity of the Kurds of Turkey, without asking anything for the Kurds of Syria, and had claimed an aknowledgement of the identity of the Kurds by Syria. He had been executed at the same time than Nasir, slashed by a grenade in October 2002. According to the informations given by the opponents of PKK/KADEK who had reached the area controlled by UPK and PDK, the direction du KADEK keeps in its jails some dozens of people in discord of opinion and decide on their fates according to the orders from Imrali. The Présidential Council of PKK/KADEK – by statements on May 6th and August 2 1999 – had announced that it will execut exactly the orders givent by Abdullah Öcalan, imprisonned in Imrali. PKK/KADEK, during its 7th Extraordinayry Congress in January 2000 and its 8th Congres in January 2002, has elected as General Président Abdullah Öcalan and decided that they will act according to the orders that come from Imrali. In June 2002, the representatives of AKP has denounced the possibility given to Abdullah Öcalan, President of KADEK, to direct the organisation since his prison of Imrali and put this case to the agenda of the National Turkish Parliament. In conclusion, considering the informations that we receive regularly, it is blatant that these executions are the consequence of orders coming from Imrali. For that reason we ask : 1) Those who are party to these crimes, by allowing that Öcalan gives his orders against his political opponents should be pursued for complicity. 2) Öcalan who presides and directs an armed organisation from his prison is at the origin of these crimes and should be pursued and condemned. 3) Lawyers who transmit these orders should be judged. 4) The members of the Presidential Council of KADEK who eliminated with barbarian ways, one by one, all those who have different opinions, should be considered as war criminals. We invite all the organisations of defence of human’s rights and CEDH to act urgently for putting an end to these crimes and for that the responsibles and their complices would be judged.
